Matthew Batezel is a founding attorney for the Southern California offices of LHB Pacific Law Partners located in Irvine/Orange County.
Matt has experience in all facets of litigation, which has allowed him to litigate many liability and property-related matters. Matters that he has handled include cases pertaining to homeowners associations, director and officer liability, property management, constructive defect, premises liability and other commercial property disputes.
Matt has also been retained as general counsel for homeowners associations and property management companies and handled numerous cases dealing with compliance with recorded Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for both residential and commercial properties. Matt also has represented La Quinta Inns for many litigated matters.
Matt is skilled in all phases of litigation. He has participated in numerous mediations, arbitrations (including binding) and trials. He is also a key player in the firm’s bad faith litigation practice. In this capacity, Matt has been responsible for preparing cases through trial and has been instrumental in the defense of State Farm Insurance Companies and 21st Century Insurance in litigation resulting from the Northridge earthquake in 1994. He has also defended a variety of other insurance companies in other "bad faith" litigation.
Matt also has vast experience in representing clients in personal injury and contractual matters, as well as with his appellate law experience including argument before the Court of Appeals.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Stephanie, and his daughters, Madison and Sydney. He is a sports enthusiast and enjoys playing ice hockey and reading.
